In addition to a dedicated 33-bed inpatient for cancer patients, our state-of-the-art outpatient facilities are conveniently located on campus for the delivery of chemotherapy and advanced radiation therapy.
The highly-experienced physicians, nurses and staff at the J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center have long been recognized for providing quality and compassionate cancer care. In fact, Community Medical Center has been accredited by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons as a “Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program” since 1986. As a part of the comprehensive cancer program, Community Medical Center offers a host of support services to teach patients and their families how to cope with the emotional aspects of a cancer diagnosis. Patients can take advantage of counseling, education referral services, complementary services, and support groups.
Patients treated at the J. Community Medical Center is among a select group of community hospitals in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware that are part of the Penn Cancer Network, collaborating with the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania to provide excellence in patient care throughout the region. The Penn Cancer Network offers an integrated system of care between Community Medical Center and Penn. This means that patients in Ocean County will continue to be cared for at Community’s J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center and will now have access to Penn’s extensive clinical trials program, specialists and technology.
