Community Medical Center is New Jersey’s largest non-teaching hospital and Ocean County’s largest health care facility. The hospital, opened in 1961, is an affiliate of Barnabas Health and cares for more than 255,000 patients annually.

The hospital operates a Primary Stroke Center, designated by the Joint Commission and the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, a Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine, an Emergency Department with an accredited Chest Pain Center and a Neuroscience Institute.
Community Medical Center also houses the J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center, the leading provider of cancer services in the Ocean County region. The cancer center treats a wide range of cancers using various technologies.
